In the past 48 hours, the Red Cross texting campaign has raised over five million dollars—the largest outpouring of support via mobile devices in history.

Now if that doesn’t get you excited about the mobile possibilities, maybe check out Google’s latest push to help you decide where to eat, drink, or shop.

All you have to do is scan the unique bar code known as a QR code with your Droid, iPhone or CrackBerry, and you’ll get instant customers reviews and coupons.

Did your head just explode? Take a deep breath, Old Ad Guy. Mobile still isn’t recommended for your college class. And you should never use it while driving, right Texty McGee? But you can use it to drive. (Does that iPhone come with heated seats?)
